Two-Year-Olds Explore Plants and Flowers
April 8th, 2024
Our George Cottage two-year-olds have been engaging in planting and flower explorations over the last few weeks. Before Spring Break, they began a bean experiment. Students chose from black beans, red beans, or pinto beans and soaked them in water and placed them in a paper towel. Students asked several questions – a promising sign of future scientists! Students enjoyed learning about plants and flowers so much that they decided to plant some tomato plants! Guided by their teachers, students filled a planter with potting soil and planted a tomato plant. A second plant was grown in a hanging container, giving students the opportunity to watch how the plants grow in different environments or situations.
