2023 Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

St. Martin’s Episcopal School is pleased to announce the 2023-24 inductees into the Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame: Greg Page ’93, Wendy Manard ’95, and the 2002 Boys Soccer Team. 

This Hall of Fame class was formally inducted in a ceremony on campus September 15, 2023. Inductees were also honored at the school’s Homecoming football game that evening. 

 

Greg Page ’93

Greg Page is one of the best male athletes to ever compete for St. Martin’s. He was a multi-sport competitor who excelled in basketball and track and field. He was voted by his classmates as “Most Athletic” his senior year. As a Basketball player from eighth grade onward, he stood out on the court as a member of the Saints squad.  Page went on to become one of the highest scorers in school history with 1,278 points. He was voted team MVP twice and earned multiple postseason accolades as an upperclassman. In Track and Field, Page’s event was the mile relay, for which he won a district and regional title. 

 

Wendy Manard ’95

During her time at St. Martin’s, Manard was a phenomenal three-season, multi-sport competitor in Cross Country, Soccer, and Track and Field. She excelled on the track and for four straight years she placed in the top 10 at statewide meets.  She was an integral member of the teams that won state in 1992 and 1993. In 1994, when the team was state runner up, Manard placed third in the 1600-meter and second in the 3200-meter. As a senior, she was also voted “Most Athletic” by her classmates. 

 

2002 Boys Varsity Soccer Team

The 2002 State Championship team joins the ranks of other excellent undefeated Hall of Fame teams. This group of Saints finished the regular season with a record of 20-0-3 and was undefeated in district play. They allowed no goals to be scored on them during the first three rounds of the playoffs and won the state title, beating their opponent 3-1. Five Saints were named to the first team all district. 

Members of the team are: Ben Bologna ’06, David Bordson-Bozzo ’02, Ilyas Chiali ’04, Chris Denuna ’06, Eric DeRoche ’02, Wheeler Graf ’02, Aaron Hyatt ’06, Joey Leone ’02, Ben Lusk ’02, Juan Mendez ’02, John Moustoukas ’02, Beau Ordemann ’02, Neej Patel ’05, Mark Tessier ’02, Brett Vogt ’02, and David Woodard ’02. The coaches were Julio Paiz and Al Silvas. Several members of the JV team were also active as reservists, including Stephen Adams ’03, Drew Hill ’04, Will James ’04, Naveen Kailas ’03, Stephen McLauglin ’05, Michael Perez ’04 and Derek Welch ’04

Each year St. Martin’s inducts new members into its Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame, which was established in 2006. The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and teams who distinguished themselves in interscholastic athletics as players, coaches, athletic trainers, or administrators while at St. Martin’s.
