St. Martin’s has played a large role in our family for more than a half-century.  John (’55), our children Ginger (’76), John, Jr. (’77), Cathy (’79), Brad (’82), and our grandson Kody (’07) are all alumni.  The intellectual and social preparations for adulthood that St. Martin’s provided, and our ongoing relationship with the school, have enriched our lives and those of our children and grandson.  While it is impossible to put a monetary value  on what we have received from St. Martin’s, remembering the school in our will is a convenient and comfortable way of saying “Thank you” for all it has meant to us over the years.

Those who care enough for St. Martin’s Episcopal School to leave a legacy ensuring the school’s future are visionary in both supporting the school and planning for its future. There are many ways of making a permanent gift to the school – bequests, trusts, gifts of property or securities, among others.

Over the past year, we have reconfigured the O.E. Haring Society in order to help grow the school’s endowment and better recognize those who have made planned gifts.

The new name of our planned giving society is The Legacy Societies of St. Martin’s Episcopal School. Housed within that association are several societies based upon the value of the planned gift, where that value is known. The planned giving levels are now as follows, with accompanying benefits described below:

$500,000+: The O.E. Haring Society

Benefits: Desktop crystal piece, individual profile in The Bell, name on plaque in Saints Hall, recognition certificate, listing in The Bell and invitation to annual event

$250,000-$499,999: The Van Slate Society

Benefits: Diamond lapel pin, name on plaque in Saints Hall, recognition certificate, listing in The Bell and invitation to annual event

$100,000-$249,999: The Bell Society

Benefits: Sapphire lapel pin, name on plaque in Saints Hall, recognition certificate, listing in The Bell and invitation to annual event

$50,000-$99,999: The 1947 Society

If you have planned a legacy gift for St. Martin’s and wish your name to be recognized, or if you are interested in learning more about planned giving and how it can secure the future of St. Martin’s while providing benefits to you, please call Lisa Sibal in the Advancement Office at (504) 736-9910.
