Students Explore a Variety of Professional Fields During Career Day
April 23rd, 2024
Alumni and parents in a variety of professional fields offered juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore a range of future careers. St. Martin’s graduates, parents, and community members engaged with students across three 30-minute sessions, sharing valuable insights about more than 20 different industries.
While juniors and seniors were immersed in career exploration, freshmen participated in Career Shadow Day, accompanying community members, parents, and alumni in specific careers throughout the city to get a sense of what a “day in the life” is like for many different professionals. Meanwhile, sophomores attended “Sudden Impact” at University Medical Center, a program designed to educate young drivers about the consequences of reckless driving, and encourage healthy behaviors behind the wheel.
Career Day is offered by the College Counseling Office in conjunction with the Alumni Office. Alumni participation in Career Day is a meaningful way for alumni to reconnect and give back to their alma mater. Alumni who would like to volunteer their time for Career Day or any other StM event may reach out to Meri Maurer Monsour ’02 in the Alumni Office at [email protected] or (504) 736-9912.
