Beginning in fifth grade, St. Martin's students are matched in groups of eight to twelve with an advisor who is responsible for facilitating their growth in academics, character, service, and personal growth. Advisory groups meet daily for morning meetings and weekly for group and/or individual meetings. These times provide the opportunity for relaxed, informal conversation which strengthens relationships and promotes our sense of community. 

The advisory program is an integral part of the overall communication process between parents, students, and the school. The advisor, in conjunction with the subject-area teachers, acts as the initial contact for information pertinent to the student’s overall progress during the year. Each advisor reviews academic progress reports, behavioral reports, emails, etc., to stay current. Advisors assist students in preparing for twice yearly student-led conferences.
