Tuition Assistance

While the cost of a St. Martin’s education is a significant financial commitment, we believe the value of the development of a lifelong love of learning, strong moral and ethical values, and well-rounded foundation is greater and lasts a lifetime. The School offers financial assistance to those who demonstrate financial need for the grades Pre-K through 12 (financial aid is not available for George Cottage).

The admissions process is separate from the financial aid process, and does not affect a student’s chances for admission. Families who are interested in tuition assistance should apply for aid at the same time that they apply for admission.

The school utilizes the services of the tuition assistance application system Clarity to initially review all tuition assistance applications to verify all information submitted and to provide the School’s Tuition Assistance Committee with an initial analysis of the application and a suggested award amount.

St. Martin's is committed to enrolling students without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, or disability. The school does not discriminate in the administration of educational policies, financial aid programs, athletic programs, or any other school-administered programs.

Clarity offers a streamlined and user-friendly assistance application process that can take as few as 20 minutes to complete. It is mobile-friendly, so you can complete your application on your phone or tablet. Also, your 1040 and W2 documents from 2023 will be automatically transferred from the IRS when you complete the verification step, so you will no longer need to upload those documents manually. These are just a few ways in which Clarity enhances the tuition assistance application process.

We know that you may have questions about this change and how it will impact your family. There is a webinar for families to learn more about Clarity on:

The deadline for completing the 2025-26 financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is February 7, 2025 for returning families and March 31, 2025 for new families.

If you’re ready to get started now, go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application, as St. Martin’s may require you to upload additional tax documentation or other support documentation.

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at [email protected] or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish.

For more information, please contact the Business Office at (504) 736-9958.

The St. Martin’s Tuition Assistance Committee then reviews the family’s application and supporting documentation (tax documents and any new financial developments affecting your family) and the suggested award to determine the tuition assistance award for the coming year. All applications and information are held in the strictest confidence. Funds are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis; therefore, it is important to apply for financial aid promptly.

Is my information secure with Clarity?

St. Martin’s takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. Clarity is certified for both GDPR and SOC2 and uses enterprise-level security standards including end-to-end encryption of all personally identifiable information. For more information, please refer to Clarity’s Privacy Policy.

What happens if I do not provide all of the requested information?
Failure to provide all of the necessary information needed to complete the application does not allow for proper review and is considered incomplete.  Incomplete applications are not reviewed for aid.
How will this impact my award?

Just as in prior years, if your financial circumstances have not changed, you will not see significant changes to your award. If you have any questions about your individual circumstance, please reach out to us.

Will I still need to apply every year?

Yes, you will need to submit a Clarity application each year in order to qualify for financial aid; however, Clarity retains your information from previous applications, so it will be even easier to reapply.

Can I complete my Clarity application on my phone or tablet?

Yes! Clarity’s application is fully mobile-friendly so you have access wherever you are.

When is my application due?
